# Managing 'On Leave' Individuals
To change a person's employee status to *On Leave*:
*Note: Only a Company Admin, HR Admin, or HR Manager can update a person's status. To learn more, please refer to:* [*Understanding User Roles & Permissions*](https://support.builtapp.com/v1/docs/managing-user-roles-and-permissions)*.*
1. Navigate to a person's profile by entering their name or title in the Jump to a Profile field and clicking their name in the list that populates.
2. On the person's profile page, click the three-dot menu next to the person's name, then click **Change Employee Status**.
3. Use the Status dropdown to select **On Leave**.
4. Click **Save**.
*For customers of our PTO module or Timesheets feature: Individuals with an On Leave status will not receive automatic accruals or be required to submit timesheets.*
